Introduction to Cluster Computing In-Person

This workshop is offered as a collaboration betwen UW's ARCC (UW Advancd Research Computing Center) and the UW Libraries DSC (Digital Scholarship Center).

This workshop will introduce the key concept definitions to help you expand your computing beyond laptop or desktop. We will discuss head nodes and compute nodes, different storage areas and the objectives behind them, best practices and behaviors on a compute cluster, and simple jobs submitted interactively and in batch. Examples will be given from the University of Wyoming high performance computing cluster and several National HPC resources. 1 hour.
