FDM201: Troubleshooting common 3D printing problems

FDM201: Troubleshooting common 3D printing problems In-Person

Thanks for your interest in FDM 201: Troubleshooting common 3D printing problems!

This is an advanced 3D printing workshop for the University of Wyoming Engineering Student Innovation Center (EERBSIC) makerspace, and teaches you how to troubleshoot common 3D printing problems. You'll need to attend at least one 100-level FDM course before you can take this workshop. FDM 201 covers common issues and errors that can happen during 3D printing, and how you can fix them with the software. By the end of the 45 minute workshop, you should have a firm understanding of:

  • Advanced Cura tips and tricks
  • Common problems, failed prints, and how to troubleshoot them

Please make sure to enroll in the Makerspace Badge Training Program and complete FDM 101: Introductory 3D printers (Prusas) or FDM 150: Intermediate 3D printers (Ultimakers) before you enroll in FDM 201. You can use your badges to track what you've learned, show potential employers, and (after earning enough badges) even receive fun perks like discounted or free material use, after-hours access, and even an invitation to participate and vote as part of the Makerspace Community Subcommittee. Almost all of our equipment requires training and badges before use.
