UW Data Symposium In-Person

Spend an afternoon learning about data sources available to faculty and staff. UW collects different types of institutional and survey data, including the Brown & Gold Dashboard, the Office of Institutional Analysis website, NSSE (National Survey of Student Engagement), and RNL Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI). These data track programs, characteristics of the student body, and student opinions and perspectives. They can be used to inquire into student characteristics, attitudes, and experiences with programs and campus services.

Sue Koller from Office of Institutional Analysis and Laurie Smith from Student Affairs will introduce participants to the types of data available to campus users via dashboards, survey platform tools, and reports.

Time will be dedicated to hands-on activities designed to give you real-campus scenarios requiring the identification and use of data points. We want you to walk away with an understanding of how to access existing data that will enable the continuous evaluation and improvement of your programs.

The UW Data Symposium is a co-hosted learning opportunity offered by Student Affairs, Office of Institutional Analysis, the Ellbogen Center for Teaching and Learning (ECTL), and the UW Assessment Coordinators.
