Join us for Maker Match Night, a creative spin on traditional speed dating—now with a live DJ! 🎶 Work on fun, hands-on projects with fellow University of Wyoming students, discover if there’s a connection, and dance the night away with great music! Whether you're hoping to make a new friend or find a potential match, this event is all about creativity, collaboration, fun, and music!
At the beginning of the night, each participant will receive materials to create their custom name tag. Using the provided materials and extra supplies, you can decorate your name tag however you like, adding a personal touch that makes you stand out!
🔄 Round 1 - Random Matching: Once everyone has made their custom name tags, they’ll be placed into a bucket. Participants will randomly draw a name tag from the bucket to see who they’re matched with for the first round.
🔨 Making Projects: During the date, the guy will create a small project based on the project selected by the girl. The girls can either watch, engage, or join in on the creative process! This is your chance to bond, collaborate, and see where the sparks fly.
💖 End of Date - Keep or Leave the Creation: When the date ends, the guy can choose to leave the project with their date (if they’re feeling smitten) or keep it for themselves. If the project is kept, the guy can place it on the Rebound Table to have the opportunity to go on another date immediately after the makers who sat out last round are selected. The girl can accept the project as a keepsake, or place it on the rebound table if she is not interested.
🖌️ Keep Creating: Makers can continue working on their project when not on a date or improve it during their current date. Feel free to start a new project if you left your previous one with your date!
If you’re a guy who isn’t on a date during a particular round, don’t worry! This is your chance to keep making projectsand improve them, hoping to catch the attention of a girl in the next round.
💡 Work on Your Projects: While waiting for the next date round, you can either continue working on your current project or start a brand new one! The more creative and unique, the better!
⏳ Mingle Time: Arrive early and get to know your fellow makers before the speed dating starts! Enjoy some casual conversation, check out the materials, and get into the creative mood.
💃 Post-Date Hangout: After the speed dating rounds are over, stick around and mingle with everyone while the live DJ keeps the vibes high! You never know where the next connection will happen.
🎶 Vibes & Music: Enjoy a live DJ spinning the perfect beats to keep the energy high while you mingle, create, connect, and have fun!
📱 No Phones: To focus on creating and authentic connections, please leave your phone aside during the event.
