Discover the cutting edge of immersive technology at the Dome Meet-Up, hosted weekly in the SciDIY Makerspace(BS37) in the basement of Physical Sciences next to the Vaughan Planetarium. Every Wednesday from 4 PM to 7 PM, this casual meet-up invites anyone interested in AR/VR/XR and Fulldome (FD) Development to learn, create, experiment, and share ideas in a one-of-a-kind space that’s open to all. There are no memberships—just sign up to reserve your spot each week and receive reminders!
This is your chance to explore some of the most advanced immersive technologies available anywhere. Dive into our custom-built immersive corner cave, or create stunning 360° videos, animations, live visuals, sound-reactive art, and even live performances for the Vaughan Planetarium’s fulldome—the same kind of technology that powers the Sphere in Las Vegas! Use our photogrammetry stations to craft detailed 3D models of real-world objects, which you can integrate into your immersive projects or 3D print in our lab. For developers, our experimental fulldome computer and AR/VR/XR workstations are ready to bring your ideas to life.
This meet-up is for everyone—students, faculty, staff, and community members—no experience required. Whether you’re a total beginner, a seasoned developer, or simply curious about immersive tech, you’re welcome to join. Bring your own projects or ideas to test and share, or just come to explore and be inspired.
The Dome Meet-Up is part of the University of Wyoming Innovation Network’s partnership with the Vaughan Planetarium, offering an unparalleled space to support immersive development on campus.
