Cowboy Sandbox: Live interactive dome, cave and AR/VR/XR In-Person

Join us for our second Cowboy Sanbox: A series of live immersive dome, cave and AR/VR/XR experiences created by Cowboys and neighboring Pokes. Live dome performances in the planetarium and openhouse at SciDIY makerspace with AR/VR/XR demos, Immersive Cave and makerspace tours.

Deepening Students' Understanding of Molecular Processes Using Augmented Reality and Integrated Social Learning - Interdisciplinary team will discuss the concepts behind using augmented reality to investigate atoms and molecules, their data collection process, impacts to learning sciences, and the Halolens technology used to run the augmented reality experience.

Audio Visual artist working in immersive media, catch his fulldome performace at Vaughan Planetarium, University of Wyoming. Timmy has been working in dome technologies for nearly 20 years, and produces and performs live for domes around the world including venues like the Sphere in Las Vegas. Catch Timmy VJing and Djing his fun visual style that brings music and dance to life under the dome. When Timmy Dj's he brings his Big Room Electro style, where the crowd moves to the beat with his electro touch that sizzles the dance floor and transporting you through space and time under the dome. Timmy will talk about working in immersive media and tell you about how you can participate in the Masters Fulldome VJ Class in Boulder this Spring as part of Dome Fest West at Fisk Planetarium, CU Boulder. 

Corey Scott: Techno
Mother Earth Sound System

In 1995, Corey discovered Colorado's underground dance music scene and warmly embraced Mother Earth Soundsystem the next year. Identifying as a techno DJ, Corey's musical palette extends beyond conventional boundaries, incorporating influences from IDM, electro, glitch, acid, and bass music. His goal is to craft intricate textures and immersive, cerebral funk in his densely layered sets that maintain a dynamic flow. Instead of adhering to a particular sonic niche, Corey aims to push the boundaries and redefine perceptions of techno, inviting listeners to explore new dimensions. Catch a quick techno set by Corey at Vaughan Planetarium, and then catch his full 2 hour set at Club La Ramie during the after-party.

Derek Osterlund aka OsVinci
Derek is an audio & Visual Artist who creates custom 3D renders using Cinema 4D & Nodebox for Vjing in dome or projection mapping on custom stage designs. He will present some of his work in the Vaughan Planetarium during Corey Scott's DJ set, and will discuss the technology and techniques during the breakout session.
